Senior HR professionals have admitted it is the money and not the challenge that attracts them to new jobs.
Only 2% of the 120 senior HR staff surveyed by Firth Ross Martin consultants said the challenge was the most important factor in attracting them to a company.
When asked which three elements were most important in encouraging them to take a particular job, the most popular response was the bonus (35%), followed by salary (33%) and the pension provision (12%).
Bonuses are becoming an increasingly popular form of remuneration for those at the top of HR, with one in 10 reporting they had seen bonus increases of 20% to 30% in the past year.
