This year’s Softworld human resources (HR) & Payroll Solutions show is being held at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith on 26 February. This free exhibition offers an opportunity to see and test out the latest HR and payroll software, get expert advice, and update your software and IT knowledge.
What’s new?
Next month’s Softworld show includes exhibits of a number of recently launched products. These include:
Pyramid HR (Stand 22) will be demonstrating its latest web-based time management module of its existing suite of human capital modules. The latest module allows workers to clock in and out using a web browser, with security checks to ensure the person clocking in or out is the person they say they are.
Simply Personnel (Stand 23) will be providing a free Act-On-It account to every visitor to its stand. Act-On-It is a web-based task-list system that keeps precise track of the important tasks assigned to your line managers, staff and suppliers, according to product manager John Indigo.
“It stores your organisation’s important daily tasks in a centralised location, making it easy to check the status of any task,” he explains. “The information is always availÂable, and you’ll know in seconds what used to take hours and even days to figure out.”
TeamSpirit Software (Stand 16) will be showcasing eApply, a versatile online vacancy application system, which works in conjunction with its existing recruitment module.
Special projects manager Dave Keable says: “Our eApply system has been developed following a rise in demand for e-recruitment in both tender documents and from our existing client base. We have developed an end-to-end solution that works in conjunction with our existing recruitment solution. The eApply system will greatly simplify the recruitment proÂcess for clients by speeding up the input of applications and reducing the potential risk of errors associated with re-keying as the applicant inputs their own details.”
Topaz (Stand 2) is committed to empowering organisations and their employees, and this is the primary focus of the latest release of Topaz EMS. It includes pay and benefits statements that enable individuals to see their earnings, benefits, holidays and sickness records and other indirect benefits. The web-based manpower planning module provides a graphical view of a team’s schedules, and management of related attendance, holidays, sickness and absences.
Masterclasses
Softworld’s masterclass programme provides information and real-life case studies that will help you be more effective when selecting and upgrading HR and payroll technology. The free 45-minute sessions will offer expert advice on choosing the correct software for your business and managing the implementation project.
Sessions include:
Andy Crossey, vice-president and head of HR consulting at Capgemini, has implemented many HR systems and believes organisations often get caught out by the same problems. He will give an insight into what the pitfalls are, and how to avoid them.
Elaine Gibson, senior policy and research officer from the Institute of Payroll Professionals, will discuss forthcoming legislative changes and reminders of upcoming topics such as alignment of tax and national insurance contributions, additional statutory paternity pay and personal accounts.
Katherine White, group HR manager from the Four Pillars Hotels, will provide delegates with top tips on how to use HR and payroll software to improve data management, as well as examining online recruitment and how this can raise the profile of your organisation, while smoothing the recruitment process.
Paul Rains, director of Transact HR, looks at the future trends and challenges for HR and payroll software, and will inform delegates about the latest technology/functionality they should be looking out for.
Lisa Bant, global HRIS and HR support manager of Invensys Eurotherm, will offer advice on the successful implementation of an integrated HR solution, and how to streamline the processes between employee and manager.
Phil Silver, HR operations manager at Punter Southall Group, provides his solutions to the many challenges faced in the procurement and implementation process.
Dennis Keeling, president of the Business and Application Software Developers Association, will deliver the keynote address outlining the main things to look for when selecting business software, as well as his expert tips to get the best out of your visit to the Softworld exhibition.
Exhibitor seminars
In addition to the masterclass sessions, a number of exhibitors will be leading seminars and product demonstrations, each offering you the chance to hear first hand about their latest products and discuss your business requirements face to face.
