Specsavers launches new corporate range of sunglasses

by Personnel Today 9 Jul 2009
by Personnel Today 9 Jul 2009

Specsavers Corporate Eyecare is today launching a new range of sunglasses. The contemporary new designs are available as part of its corporate Optical Care Voucher scheme.

Each Optical Care Voucher from Specsavers costs the company just £35 to purchase and covers:

  • A full eye examination at any of over 623 Specsavers Opticians stores throughout the UK

  • A pair of prescription glasses, including standard Ultra single vision lenses, from Specsavers’ £45 range or:

  • A pair of non-prescription sunglasses from Specsavers’ range of newly-available modern and stylish designs

The vouchers include a scratch-resistant treatment on all lenses, both standard vision and sunglasses. Employees can also use the voucher as a £45 contribution towards the cost of higher-priced items. This can include glasses from a higher-priced range or more specialised requirements like bifocal or varifocal lenses.

Jim Lythgow, director of strategic alliances for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare says, ‘Our Optical Care Vouchers work as an extremely simple and cost-effective employee benefit that can be offered to all levels of staff. If an employee has an eye examination and discovers that they do not need glasses, then it is a nice additional benefit for them to be able to choose a free pair of sunglasses instead. This makes the vouchers greater value for money for the employer too.’
