Supermarket giant, Tesco is to publish the first edition of its new staff newspaper, The One, today (28 March).

Bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Sun, and published every fortnight, The One will bring breaking company news and stories to more than 270,000 Tesco employees across 2,000 UK stores, depots and offices.

Greg Sage, head of internal communications at Tesco, said: “We want to provide all our staff with clear, honest and current information about the Tesco business. The One allows us to talk to our people in a straightforward and entertaining way.”

The first issue comes after a three-month live test of the prototype newspaper among 5,000 employees at selected stores – plus a company-wide special issue on Tesco’s ‘Fresh & Easy’ launch in the US last November.
