The authors are keen to convince us of the need for levity at work, and their enthusiasm is catching. Who could ignore a chapter headed: ‘If they’re busting a gut, they’ll bust their butts’? But Gostick and Christopher are serious about levity and its impact on the bottom line, and have plenty of ideas for generating laughter. Not everyone will go for ‘shave your head when your team hits a target’, though.
