Thomsons Online Benefits, the leading reward consultancy, has been accredited by BSI with the security standard ISO27001, an internationally recognised standard for Information Security Management. Thomsons becomes the first provider of flexible benefits solutions to achieve this standard.
ISO27001 is an internationally recognised standard that identifies, manages and minimises the range of threats to which information is regularly subjected. Despite the fact that data security scare stories now regularly fill the headlines, less than 6,000 organisations worldwide have achieved the accreditation. As part of the process, BSI performed comprehensive on-site assessments, examined Thomsons’ documented procedures, and audited its staff and overall operations.
Michael Whitfield, CEO of Thomsons commented “We are delighted that Thomsons has been accredited with ISO27001. This recognises the dedication and professionalism that we provide our clients on a daily basis. This standard will assist with our continued growth whilst ensuring our working practices remain those of the global market leader in employee benefits software. It also provides our clients with a kite mark of trust and integrity so that they can confident their data is in good hands”.
Pete Craghill, Chief Technical Officer commented “BSI accreditation has, and will continue to ensure that Thomsons’ clients are entirely confident in the security of their data. With data protection and security becoming an increasingly important part of client requirements, ISO27001 further strengthens our proposition in the market.”
