The Trade and Industry Select Committee has announced a wide-ranging inquiry into the UK construction industry.
The inquiry will consider a number of topics, including employment and payment practices, the UK’s dependence on imported labour and expertise, and the availability of and investment in skills.
The committee will also look at the industry’s long-term capacity for the delivery of large infrastructure projects on time and to budget, such as the 2012 Olympic Games.
