Car
workers at the luxury car maker TVR are to be represented by the Transport and
General Workers’ Union (T&G).
The
T&G won recognition at the Blackpool company to negotiate on pay, hours and
holidays after a lengthy campaign and detailed examination by the Central
Arbitration Committee (CAC).
The
CAC, the official body set up to rule on contested recognition claims, studied
the union’s application and the company’s counter claim over the past three
months. An independent panel then said that a majority of the 305 workforce
concerned would be likely to support recognition based on current membership
and those who expressed support for the T&G.
