UK
workers are the most uncertain when it comes to job security, according to a
new worldwide poll.
Job
confidence in the UK has dropped to a new low over the last eight months, and
has left British workers the most nervous in the world.
The
RightCoutts Global Career Confidence Index shows that 29.1 per cent of workers
felt it was ‘very likely’ they would be laid off from their current job within
the next 12 months.
This
represents a rise of 1.6 per cent on the last survey eight months ago, and
compares to a total of just 5.4 per cent in Norway.
However,
UK employees are among the most optimistic when it comes to rating their
ability to get another job if they are made redundant, with 19.7 per cent
claiming it would be easy to find a new job.
