WestQuay, the south coast’s premier shopping centre, is celebrating after gaining the esteemed national award of “Investors in People”.
The Investors in People Standard standard recognises high quality of management in companies that put their people at the heart of what they do.
To achieve the standard, an organisation must show that it is committed to improving the learning and development opportunities for its employees.
WestQuay has worked towards accreditation over the last 18 months and was praised by the assessors for involving and developing its people to improve the delivery of services.
Andy Collyer, General Manager at WestQuay, said:
“Achieving Investors in People has been a key focus for us. This award demonstrates that our high standards are reflected not only in the excellent shopping environment offered at WestQuay, but also in the skills and motivation of our staff. I am very proud of the dedication that our employees have demonstrated by achieving this standard.
“WestQuay values its employees and gaining Investors in People status is part of its commitment to promote a team culture that will cultivate pride and job satisfaction. Staff development is, and will continue to be, a top priority for WestQuay.
“We believe that investing in our people brings an added benefit to our customers since a valued and well-trained team offers the benefit of excellent customer service and an improved understanding of our customers’ needs.”
