Work experience placements don’t always work out

Employers may see work experience primarily as a chance to build links with potential new recruits, but just half (51%) of those that recruit graduates say their programme encourages more applicants in practice.

Worse still, just one in three (31%) says that their work experience schemes do anything to improve the quality of job applicants, while one in four (26%) believes they have no impact at all.
