Paul Roberts argues that, because most of the World Cup games kick off after 5pm, there should be no problem giving employees time off (Letters, Personnel Today, 20 June). Does he think working time is a nine-to-five issue? We run a 24-hour operation and it can be extremely difficult to provide the flexibility required and still run a business. The world doesn’t stop when you go home for tea, Paul.
