Lloyds TSB and Ladbrokes win at the 2009 Employee Benefits Awards

Asperity’s entrants at the 2009 Employee Benefits awards proved highly successful as the company won “Most Effective use of a voluntary benefits plan” for the second year running with an entry for Lloyds TSB Staff Offers.

Asperity and Lloyds TSB saw off stiff competition from BOC, J Sainsbury, John Lewis Partnership and Telefonica O2 to win the title – recognised as the most prestigious and relevant voluntary benefits award of the year.

The judges praised Lloyds TSB Staff Offers for the way it fitted into the bank’s wider total reward strategy and hit a target of 50% employee engagement after just 5 five months”

Asperity’s MD Glenn Elliott said “We’re delighted to have won the Most Effective use of a VB plan award for the second year running. Lloyds TSB have been a fantastic client to work with over the last two years and the success is down to a real partnership approach. We’ve been able to do some genuinely ground breaking work with the group and I’m really pleased that the project has been as the winner against some excellent peers in the finalist list.”

Kathryn Sambrook from Lloyds TSB collected the award on behalf of the bank and colleagues Irene Elson, Leanne Frith and Kevin Gilhooley from the award team were on hand to celebrate.

Club Ladbrokes also receives high praise.

Asperity’s two entries for Ladbrokes plc were also singled out. Club Ladbrokes received a “Highly Commended” credit in the “Communications Strategy of the Year” category and a second as most effective voluntary plan – the same category that Asperity’s Lloyds TSB entry won.

The judges said “The bookmaker was pipped to the post [by Tesco] in a closely fought category. Its carefully thought-through communications calender detailed exactly when each benefit would be promoted, so staff received information on bite-sized chunks over several months.”

Ladbrokes went on to win “Most effective motivation or incentive strategy” and also the coveted “Grand Prix” award which is not entered but is given to the company that most impressed the judges out of all of the finalists.
