Croydon Council and ISS UK and Ireland received the overall winner prizes for their inclusion policies at this evening’s 2018 Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) Awards.
Awarded the top honours for the public and private sector respectively, the two organisations celebrated their achievements alongside Freeths which was named Small Employer of the Year 2018 at The Law Society, London.
ISS won the Inclusive Culture (Private Sector) Award this year with an outstanding entry describing how building an inclusive work environment was a natural response to their highly diverse workforce.
Croydon Council were winners in the Apprenticeship category, highly commended in the Employee Network Group category and shortlisted for the Impact through Innovation Award. Freeths was recognised for its achievements on the social inclusion agenda and also took home the Advancing Social Mobility in the Workplace Award.
HM Revenue & Customs won the Team of the Year award, sponsored by Personnel Today.
This year enei launched its new TIDE benchmark, with five organisations meeting Gold Standard: HS2, the Department for International Development, Pernod Ricard, DWF and the Ministry of Justice.

Gurdeep Singh from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs received a Personal Achievement Award, in recognition of how he has overcome major illness to break down barriers for others.
Accolades were granted to 19 organisations in 15 categories, with winners having to demonstrate a clear response to a specific challenge, definitive and measurable outcomes and evidence of significant impact. The awards acknowledged and celebrated those with a commitment to good practice above and beyond legal compliance and innovative approaches that will inspire other employers. A further 11 organisations were highly commended for their work.
