Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust selects Manpower software

Manpower Software, a leading provider of workforce optimisation and electronic rostering solutions, is pleased to announce that Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has selected Manpower Software’s MAPS Healthroster solution.

David Foster, Executive Sponsor for the e-rostering project at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, commented: “This is a fantastic development in what is a very progressive organisation.  The system enables ward sisters to produce safe, fair and cost effective rosters and is helping us to focus on providing the right numbers of nurses with the right skills to enhance patient care.  I am also excited about extending it to other work groups.”

On 1st October 2007 Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and St Mary’s NHS Trust came together with Imperial College London to create a UK first – an Academic Health Science Centre and the UK’s largest NHS Trust – Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Becoming the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre, the Trust integrates health services with teaching and research.

The fusion of the different strands of work aims to provide significant benefits for patients and to achieve great advances in healthcare.

Following a successful pilot MAPS Healthroster solution has been selected to electronically roster nurses and midwives along with interfacing to ESR and their Bank system.

It followed a competitive tender and a six month pilot, which demonstrated that by using MAPS Healthroster it was possible to improve staff productivity and provide real time visibility of the use and management of staff at various levels of the organisation.

Commenting on the announcement, Paul Scandrett, Manpower Software’s Head of Healthcare said: ‘‘To be selected by the largest and first Academic Health Science Centre following a European tender process and a successful six month pilot, once again demonstrates our ability to consistently deliver across the diverse clinical settings found in the NHS.”

Paul added: “We are particularly excited by the opportunity to work with the leading pioneer in healthcare who can help us continue our focus of improving patient care and clinical outcomes by aligning patient’s requirements with the best clinical teams. This now brings the total number of MAPS Healthroster customers to 32 NHS Trusts in England and Wales.”
