The London-based rival to the CIPD’s annual conference, which was revealed exclusively by Personnel Today yesterday, has now been officially launched.
HR Performance, a conference and exhibition that will host up to 4,000 delegates, will take place at the National Hall at the Olympia exhibition complex in Kensington on 4-5 October 2011, a month before the CIPD event.
The conference will consist of 48 seminars divided between six rooms placed on the exhibition floor.
Rock Media, a company run by David Jones, is behind the event. Jones calls it a “fresh and dynamic alternative within the HR calendar”.
Jones was involved for many years in the organisation of the CIPD annual event before it moved from Harrogate to Manchester in 2009.
He commented: “We have been encouraged by leading suppliers to the HR community to provide a new annual opportunity to meet HR professionals from the private and public sectors, as well as line managers from small and medium sized companies who have been given HR responsibilities.”
Jones added that, with the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics around the corner, the HR Performance conference will draw on the experience of leading sports figures to highlight the parallels between sporting achievement and company performance.
