British Airways and Unite to hold talks today over strikes

British Airways (BA) and union Unite are to hold fresh talks today, as the latest cabin crew strike moves into its third day.

Tony Woodley, the union’s joint secretary, said yesterday that Unite could ballot members for further strikes. The current strike is the second of three, with the next due to start on 5 June, the BBC has reported.

Speaking at Unite’s annual conference, held yesterday in Manchester, Woodley said: “We all know there is a deal to be struck, one that recognises the real commercial needs and problems of the company as well as our members’ legitimate interests. But we are not and never will be prepared to see our members and our union humiliated, victimised and reduced to ruins.”
