UK business management and information systems provider, COA Solutions, has won a leading environmental award at the International Green Apple Awards 2009.
Presented by former Bond Girl, Alexandra Bastedo, during a ceremony hosted by Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP at the House of Commons, the award is in recognition of the environmental benefits of COA Solutions’ employee expense management (EEM) system with integrated carbon tracking. COA Solutions’ document management subsidiary, Version One, was also presented with a Green Apple Award for its latest environmental initiative – The Clean and Green Project (www.ecogecko.org).
The Green Apple Awards, run by The Green Organisation, honour environmental best practice and are established as one of the foremost environmental award schemes worldwide. This is the second successive year that COA Solutions has won a Green Apple Award after its electronic workflow system was a winner in 2008.
COA Solutions’ employee expense management system has been configured to calculate staff transport emissions. When a claim is in relation to business travel, the system calculates carbon emissions based upon mode of transport and length of journey. The make of car and its engine size are also taken into account when calculating car journey emissions.
Mark Thompson, Managing Director of COA Solutions, says, “We have worked closely with our customers to develop software systems with tangible environmental as well as business benefits. It is therefore satisfying that all our hard work has been recognised by The Green Organisation and we have been awarded a Green Apple for the second year running.”
COA Solutions’ business applications include core financial management, procurement, human resource and payroll systems, integrated with a range of collaborative, document management and business intelligence solutions. COA Solutions also provides managed service and bureau service options.
