Electrical retailer Comet has moved its whole recruitment operation online in anticipation of heavy hiring during the festive season.
The company anticipates up to 2,000 new jobs will be created at its 250 stores across the UK during the Christmas period. Applicants for all vacancies from retail positions through to opportunities at its head office, can visit www.cometjobs.co.uk and complete the application process.
The changes to the recruitment process were made following research into the demographics of current applicants, and opinions of potential employees. The new site aims to attract a more diverse pool of candidates through new visuals and text focusing on how the ordinary person knows far more than they think about electrical products.

Cometjobs.co.uk is also the first retail recruitment website to include animation and video profiles of current employees. The company claims the website will also be the first retail site to feature colleague blogs, which will launch in the near future.
