The
Engineering Employers Federation has launched an online guide to managing noise
exposure in the workplace.
Noise
in Engineering: what you need to know is available from the EEF website and
was developed by the HSE’s Engineering Industry Noise Task Group.
The
guidance provides employers with details on training and gives clear examples
of practical steps businesses can take in order to prevent their workforce from
suffering hearing damage.
Gary
Booton, EEF health and safety manager, said: "This new leaflet gives
straightforward advice on noise at work for those at the sharp-end. Engineers
are used to finding solutions and this guidance is aimed at encouraging them to
do just that."
