Firefighter talks continue

Talks
between firefighters and the Government continue today as the two parties try
to avert further strike action.

Fire
Brigades Union general secretary Andy Gilchrist is also due to met with Deputy
Prime Minister John Prescott today.

An
eight-day strike is planned to start this Friday, but it is understood this
could be cancelled or delayed if talks go well.
