Companies
could receive up to £2,300 to recruit the young long-term unemployed in
deprived communities.
The
DfEE’s scheme, called Recruit, aims to reduce long term unemployment among 18
to 24 year olds.
Aimed
at small businesses, the grant would be paid to them in two lump sums, the
first when the employee starts and the second after 13 weeks.
It
is hoped this structuring of the “golden hello” will promote retention.
