Henley Management College has launched a new MSc in Advanced Human Resource Management, which aims to help HR managers operate at a strategic level within their organisations.
The programme has been introduced on the back of research carried out by Henley, which indicated a real need for a strategic professional HR qualification that facilitates the development of HR business leaders.
With new roles for HR increasingly taking shape, HR directors are beginning to recognise that the talent pool within the HR function is small, thereby offering little depth from which to recruit.

Ken Bull, programme leader of the course, said: “The course is very much about putting HR in a business context. The emphasis is on ‘action learning’, where participants get the opportunity to work on real, live issues facing their own organisations.”
Personnel Today has been running a competition offering one lucky reader a place on the new course. The winner will be announced in the 10 April issue of the magazine.
