Why aren’t employers paying more attention to developing their leaders (Personnel Today, 26 June)?

It seems self-evident that continually building the top team’s skills, and those of prospective leaders, is vital to any organisation’s success.

Failing to do this risks the future of the business and contributes to issues such as poor succession planning, which Investors in People research has shown wipes £2bn a year from the value of FTSE 350 companies.
