The HR team at the Metropolitan Police Service are among the winners of a copy of The Daily Drucker by management guru Peter Drucker, offered in our January 2005 edition. We asked you to re-write his ultimate test of management, and the team wrote: “the ultimate test of management is what happens when they’re not around”.

NIGHT NURSE
Team-working and clinical handover at night are two of the subjects covered in a programme on the European Working Time Directive from NHSU, the corporate university for the NHS. Known as Hospital at Night, the programme is piloting in 20 trusts across England.
FIAT MOTORS ON
Fiat Auto is among the first manufacturers in the UK to have its technical training programme mapped against qualifications from the Institute of the Motor Industry. It will be promoting the certificates as part of a new training and development programme for its staff and dealer network called The Academy.
