Barry Thompson has been appointed HR director at SBS Commercial, a business transfer company. He will be based in the Bolton office and will lead the company’s HR strategy, including recruitment, training and legislation.
The HR Society has announced that Andrew Mayo is to become its new president. Mayo takes over from Dr Clive Purkiss, who has held the position since 2000. Mayo is a director of the Mayo Learning International consultancy.
QHotels has appointed Trevor Hipkins as its HR director. Hipkins previously worked in a range of HR roles at Pinnacle Performance Training and Avis car rental company. QHotels is currently implementing a multi-million pound refurbishment plan for its eight UK properties.
