Insurance product provider Assurant Solutions has appointed Patricia Abbitt as personnel officer for its UK operations. She will be responsible for managing the recruitment and retention process and co-ordinating the induction and personal development programmes.

Robert Rose has joined Thanet Council in Kent as head of improvement and performance. Rose was previously deputy director of HR at Maid-stone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Hospitals Trust.
