The leader of Britain’s biggest union, Unison, has been re-elected after polling 75% of the votes.
Dave Prentis beat off two challengers to remain as the general secretary of the public sector union for another five years.
He received 184,769 votes. The nearest rival, Knowsley branch official Roger Bannister, polled 41,406 votes, and Jon Rogers polled 18,306.

After the result was announced, Prentis said he would continue the campaign against plans to change the local government pension scheme and raise retirement age.
The union is due to reveal the result of a strike ballot at the end of this week.
