Retail
manager salaries have fallen by almost 3 per cent over the last year, despite a
healthy performance in the sector and greater demand for store managers.
Retail
salaries have slipped, according to the Retail Salary Survey.
The
survey looked at 286 staff across a range of stores and found that during the
last six months salaries had slipped by 2.8 per cent compared to the same
period last year.
The
report, by recruitment consultants Mandeville, shows the average basic salary
for store management positions is £17,110, down from £17,594.

The
research looked at 55 of the UK’s major retailers across a range of sectors
including, DIY, electrical goods and supermarkets.
