Scots would take pay cut to work less hours

One in three Scots employees would take a salary cut to reduce their working hours, according to new research.

Flexible working conditions outweighed jobseekers’ cash concerns, with more than 50% of respondents saying they were dissatisfied with their current employers’ provision of flexible working.

The survey, by recruitment website, also found that 60% of workers were currently looking for a job to provide a better balance between their working and personal lives. sales director Karen Ronald said salary was no longer the prime motivator in finding a new job that it once was in Scotland.

“People are far more concerned with the overall package that a prospective employer has on offer, to ensure a good work-life balance,” she said.
