Brewing giant Scottish and Newcastle (S&N) has appointed Frank Douglas as group HR director.
Douglas will take up his new post next month, replacing Tony Graham, who is retiring from S&N at the end of the year.
Reporting to Tony Froggatt, chief executive officer of S&N, Douglas will be responsible for shaping the people strategy and optimising the contribution of employees.

He joins from Cable & Wireless, where he was HR director, International. Prior to that he worked as HR director for the growth businesses of Royal Dutch/Shell, in The Netherlands, and as head of HR New Wave Solutions at British Telecom.
The HR function at S&N has undergone significant change over the past three years through the introduction of a new organisational model covering all of the companies, new processes, strategies and policies as well as supporting information technology.
