Swansea Council has delayed its planned IT outsourcing contract with Capgemini for the second time.
Sixty-six IT staff were expecting to transfer to Capgemini today but this cannot happen until the contract has been signed.
Swansea Council spokesman Lee Wenham said: “We hope to sign the contract shortly and staff will be told as soon as possible after it has taken place so the transfer may proceed.”
A Capgemini spokesman said: “The transfer has been put back. The negotiations are ongoing. It will not go on much longer.”
Swansea Council’s IT staff went on strike for two months last year when they discovered by reading an advert in a European journal that the council planned to outsource their department.

In July, Swansea Council said: “The two parties expect to sign the contract no later than September and for those ICT staff who are in scope to transfer to Capgemini on 1 October.”
In September the council delayed the transfer of its IT department to Capgemini by a month and cut the number of staff to be transfered from 73 to 66.
