The Urquhart Partnership today (11th September 2008) announced it has appointed Sylvia Halkerston as a non-executive Director; a new position on the Aberdeen-headquartered human resources, recruitment and training consultancy’s board.
Mrs Halkerston, the Human Resources Director for Macphie of Glenbervie, a leading UK food ingredients manufacturer, was educated in Aberdeen. She has worked in a number of industries, including hospitality, construction and food and drink, as well as oil and gas.
Last year, she received the Outstanding Contribution to Business Award from the Association of Scottish Businesswomen and is the Chairman of the Grampian Local Advisory Board of Careers Scotland; a Director of Improve Ltd – the Sector Skills Council for the food and drink manufacturing industry in the UK – the only director from a Scottish company; and a board member of the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service.
Mrs Halkerston is also a council member of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce and a court member of the University of Abertay, Dundee.
