West London Mental Health NHS Trust commissions online diversity training package for all staff

by Personnel Today 13 May 2009

West London Mental Health NHS Trust has commissioned Marshall ACM’s online database for the collection of Equality Impact Assessments (EIA) to ensure the mandatory assessment process is more easily managed. It includes EIA on-line training to accompany the tool as well as generic Diversity training for grassroots staff and managers.

All public sector organisations now need to risk assess policies and practices to check for adverse impact against the equality strands of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion & belief and disability.

Margaret Fordjour, the Diversity Lead [Employment] at West London Mental Health, says, “We think the online database is very effective and provides a mechanism for monitoring and publishing assessments.  The accompanying training is also very concise and readable.  The Trust is also making sure employees are introduced to the system through a series of workshops where individuals have the opportunity to ask questions and get a hands-on feel for the system”.

Marshall ACM delivers a managed e-learning service to over 140 organisations across the public and private sector in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
