A nationwide search for employers who provide the best practical training for young people has been launched.
Practical learning charity Edge will provide £460,000 in cash prizes to employers who can demonstrate how they offer excellent work-related learning opportunities for 14- to 25-year olds.
The Edge Employer Awards are open to all employers in England, large and small, public, private and voluntary.
A condition of entry is that the prize winnings must be reinvested back into work-related learning for 14- to 25-year olds, such as apprenticeships or work placements.
Garry Hawkes, Edge chairman, said: “Many excellent employers believe in providing great work experience and training for young people and we intend to reward the very best.
