A BNP member who was expelled from the T&G has taken the union to an employment tribunal and is seeking £60,000 in compensation for discrimination.
John Walker, a 42-year-old BNP treasurer from Deeside in North Wales, told the tribunal he had been the victim of a witch-hunt.
A spokesman for the T&G said: “Mr Walker was expelled by the T&G in August 2004 for his conduct of inciting racial harassment and discrimination.
“His membership of the BNP was irrelevant to our decision. Mr Walker subsequently appealed and lost his appeal, and has now gone to an employment tribunal.”
