Fitness First works with Best Companies to measure engagement levels

Fitness First, the world’s largest gym, health and fitness health club group, has appointed Best Companies to conduct its first global employee engagement survey.

With more than 13,000 staff worldwide and 530 fitness clubs operating in the UK, Australia and throughout Europe and Asia, staff in 16 countries will now be given the opportunity to feed back on what it is like to work for Fitness First.

Neil Tune, UK HR Director of Fitness First, comments: “Having worked with Best Companies previously through its accreditation process, we knew it would be capable of delivering a global project on time. We liked the way Best Companies reported to us and found the data provided incredibly useful.

“To support our launch this year of mission and values, we wanted a global employee survey of individual businesses to enable us to clearly focus on the things that matter in creating a fantastic workplace. We know that if our staff enjoy their work, then our members will notice and benefit.

“What has been invaluable is that the Best Companies’ questionnaire is closely aligned with our corporate values and there has been the facility to tailor the questionnaire to ensure we also covering topics specific to our business.”

Wayne Clarke, Managing Partner of Best Companies Partnership, comments: “We’re really excited to be working with and supporting Fitness First in measuring engagement. We’re passionate about helping our clients meet their business goals through engaging their staff. Getting engagement right is a journey and Fitness First is showing it commitment to that journey by undertaking this work.’’

The survey, which will be available in English and nine other local languages, went live in mid mid-June and the results will be presented to Fitness First by mid-July
