HR’s
standing with other parts of the business is greater than ever before,
according to a new survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development (CIPD).
The
poll of 1,180 HR professionals showed that 72 per cent believed their influence
with senior colleagues has increased.
Seven
out of 10 HR practitioners said the CEO thought HR had a key role to play in
achieving business success, while two in five said the function employed more
people than it did three years ago.
However,
more than a third of HR professionals are still inclined to see the function as
more operational than strategic, with just less than half seeing the HR
function as being more reactive than proactive.
