Following a competitive pitch, North West training and development provider, Instep UK, has been appointed as the partner for General Business Skills delivery for RWE npower.
RWE npower, is an integrated energy business, supplying gas and electricity to six million customer accounts through their retail business, npower. They also operate and manage a portfolio of flexible low-cost coal, oil and gas-fired power stations.
With over 11,000 employees across 60 sites in the UK, Instep UK has been tasked to deliver a series of one and two day workshops across the whole organisation that focus on core skills such as Presentations, Report Writing, Assertiveness, Negotiation, Project Management and Leadership.
Mel Flood, Director at Instep UK and responsible for managing the RWE npower account, said: “We have worked with RWE npower since 2002 on a number of projects and are delighted to have achieved preferred partner status to deliver their General Business Skills workshops as part of their core curriculum agenda.”
“One of our key focuses at Instep is to ensure that businesses deliver both a time and cost-effective training solution. Following a review at RWE npower, we have already recommended that a number of their existing two-day workshops are reduced to one-day, making savings in the short and long term,” she adds.
Jamie Mowat, Head of Corporate Learning and Development at RWE npower, said of the appointment: “General Business Skills is a core element of our training programme and Instep UK has shown that they can deliver workable solutions relevant to our day-to-day working environment. They are a perfect partner for us an organisation – not only do they listen to our requirements but they also offer proactive and challenging solutions.”
The workshops have already started and will continue to be scheduled every month over the next two years.
