Speaking at a CBI meeting yesterday, Tony Blair pledged to make better regulation a centrepiece of the British presidency of the European Union next year.
During a speech to business leaders in Birmingham, Blair said the UK had one of the lowest administrative burdens of any industrialised country in the world. However, he conceded that red tape was still a major gripe of businesses up and down the country.
