A
postal worker sacked after Consignia accused him of being a football hooligan
is poised to pocket £125,000 compensation.
Mick
Doherty was dismissed after a photo was published in newspapers of him
allegedly fighting at the 2000 UEFA Cup Final between Arsenal and Galatasaray.
His
brother Tom was also sacked.
The
brothers denied fighting and won unfair dismissal claims. The tribunal ruled
they should be reinstated, but Consignia refused.
