UK staff unhappy with pay

Half of UK workers are unhappy with their pay, with women less likely to be satisfied about their earnings. A survey of 4,000 employees, by the TUC and pay analysts Incomes Data Services, also showed that women are less likely than men to have talked about pay to their manager. www.personneltoday.com/32285.article

Outsourcing deal scrapped

Sainsbury’s has scrapped its multi-million pound 10-year IT outsourcing agreement with consultancy Accenture. In a statement, the super-market chain said: “Our IT focus has changed and it has been decided that it is the right time to rebuild its expertise back in-house.”
It is estimated that 700 staff at Accenture are employed on Sainsbury’s IT systems but it has not yet been confirmed how many will be transferred back. www.personneltoday.com/32291.article
