Abu Dhabi construction project generates 60,000 jobs

Recruitment firm Orion Group is looking to hire up to 60,000 people for one of the world’s biggest construction projects.

The £9bn project in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, will transform the eight kilometre water-front of Al Raha Beach into a community and lifestyle precinct for 200,000 people. The development consists of residential, commercial, tourist, recreation and public spaces.

Orion is recruiting across the board for management positions to work in the Gulf, including roles in planning, engineering, procurement, logistics and health and safety.

Projects director Ken MacGregor said: “The scale of this development is immense. Prospective staff are finding the lifestyle in Abu Dhabi seriously enticing. It’s generally regarded as a great place to live in the Middle East, with the added appeal of tax-free salaries.”
