Neil Fletcher has been appointed to the head of the Honda Institute, which takes care of employee and people development for the Honda dealer networks in the UK and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
He replaces Geoff Matthews who will become general manager at the firm’s Power Equipment division.
Fletcher, previously national sales manager for Power Equipment, will leave generators and other power products behind to take responsibility for the institute.
Before joining Honda, Fletcher held retail sales and sales management roles with Alfa Romeo, Mitsubishi and Mercedes-Benz franchises, and at the Ford Motor Company.
Pauline Wiseman, head of HR and legal at Honda (UK) said: “Neil brings a wealth of experience from within Honda (UK) and elsewhere in the industry and is consequently well placed to build on the excellent foundation established by Matthews and the team.”
Matthews recently criticised the government’s obsession with getting firms to sign the Leitch skills pledge.
