9-20 recruitment scooped the ‘Recruiter Award’ at the inaugural Herald Digital Business Awards 2009.
The category which rewards the innovative use of digital technology in the recruitment process was awarded to 9-20 for the implementation of the companies Talent Management Platform, ‘Firefish Software’.
Developed fully in-house the modular based Firefish Software which drives significant business efficiencies is delivered as a web based Software as a Service. With initial stages of branding and website development near completion current plans indicate the product will be released on the market in early 2010.
Last weeks Herald Digital awards ceremony held at Glasgow’s Mitchell Library seen a variety of winners across a number of categories including leading games company ‘Realtime Worlds’ and overall event winner on the day, ‘walkhighlands.co.uk’.
In accepting the award for 9-20, company director Gordon Brown said:
“These awards demonstrate the importance of the role which technology now play’s in the recruitment process. As an IT specialist it’s great to receive recognition for the development of such a technology after all the hard work that’s been put into it. I’d like to thank all the judges for recognising this as we really were up against some tough competition.”

The award comes off the back of a very successful year for 9-20 having seen the addition of several new client service offerings, various marketing initiatives, a number of new clients as well as the company managing director Wendy McDougall being voted onto the board at ScotlandIS, Scotland’s trade body for ICT.
