More than 900 North Sea divers and support staff who have been on strike since 1 November are to consider a new pay offer.
Employers made the offer after eight hours of talks held with conciliation service Acas.
The strike will continue while members of the RMT union are consulted in a ballot to be concluded later this week.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: “The new offer is of 25% on all [pay] rates from 1 November, with a further 5% from April next year. The offer is also of a further 5% or RPI (retail prices index) plus 1.5% – whichever is greater – from November 2007 and again from November 2008.”

The employers have also agreed to pay divers and support staff for all eight bank holidays.
“Importantly, the employers have also agreed to formulate proper bargaining procedures with each of the seven companies involved, although they will still come together when pay is discussed for all seven companies,” Crow said.
