Police force overwhelmed by applicants

Lincolnshire Police has had to close its recruitment drive for new officers after running out of application forms.

More than 1,000 forms were requested in the first two hours of a recruitment campaign expected to last a week.

The force, which has 60 posts to fill this year, said it was “overwhelmed”, reports the BBC.

Senior recruitment officer David Freeman said: “This has been a fantastic response, but it is regrettable that there will be people who are disappointed that they were unable to get an application form.”
