Royal Mail workers set to strike after talks break down

Postal
workers could strike after talks aimed to stop industrial action broke down.

Around
160,000 postal workers are to be balloted after unions accused the Royal Mail
of shutting down pay negotiations.

Union
criticised Royal Mail despite company managers entering talks at conciliation
service Acas.

According
to reports, HR director Tony McCarthy spent more than an hour with Acas, but
the postal executive of the Communication Workers Union failed to meet with
him.
