Supermarket giant Somerfield is to outsource the payroll and people information services for its 44,000 UK employees to HR provider Ceridian.
The seven-year deal – involving the transfer of 41 Somerfield employees under the TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)) regulations – covers 17 processes across 900 stores.
Somerfield group people director Karan Paige said: “We chose Ceridian as our partner due to the strength of its people, its experience in payroll services and its fit with our culture and values.
“During an exhaustive competitive tender process we saw Ceridian as one of the only providers able to commit the expertise and dedication we feel this project requires.”
Ceridian managing director Doug Sawers: “We’re delighted to be starting work with Somerfield on such a significant and exciting project.”
