Travelodge has revealed aggressive expansion plans which will double its workforce, and has said it plans to open a new site every 10 days to coincide with its 20th anniversary.
Under the umbrella of a £20m brand relaunch, the hotel group announced that it would create 2,500 new rooms each year for the next six years, creating 4,500 new jobs – double its current workforce.

The company will target city-centre sites to complement its already substantial roadside portfolio.
Sales and marketing director Guy Parsons explained that the group was keen to focus on its core issues of cost and location and would not be outsourcing food and beverage services or including meeting space in properties.
